One of the best museums for me is the Orangerie in Paris – an amazing architecture for Monet’s water lilies, perfect size and great artists. But there are more museums that are worth to visit like for example the Kunsthalle in Hamburg, MAMCS in Strasbourg or the Van Gogh Museum and Stedelijk Museum in Amsterdam.
The Stedelijk exhibits both – modern art as well as design. But the reason I write this post is one picture I found in the collection: Gate by Barnett Newman. It shows three colors: brown, light turquoise and black. Standing in front of the painting, the viewer feels like walking through an open door into the endless space. More astonishing for me was that the colors I picked for myself several years ago match perfectly with the art work and are nearly identical.
So when you are in Amsterdam, visit this museum, it is defiantly worth it.
